I would like to get the dimensions and shape of the fuel tank on a 2014 R25SC. I would also like to know how the tank lays in the hull when the boat is stationary in the water: is it level or is it tilted toward to bow or stern.

Thanks

I have the same tank in my C26. It sits level in the hull but my boat floats stern heavy making it hard to fill the tank because the fill and vent are both located aft. Bad design! Usually vent fittings are installed center of the tank or forward of fill not next to the fill. The only advantage of this design is easy installation.

Brian, thanks that is exactly what I needed. Now that I know my water problem is related to the fuel vent, I will fix the vent and have my fuel tank cleaned.

I installed a Tee fitting very easy way to pull water and debris from the bottom of the tank. I also have a polishing system that pulls from 1/4" off the bottom. The engine pick-up tube is 1" off the bottom of the tank.

The second fuel fitting from the left is the Tee fitting. Remove the pipe plug from the Tee fitting insert pick up tube into tank. I use 1/4" ss tubing with a fitting( compression to pipe) then attach a barb fitting to the pipe thread. I attach a hoes to the barb and use my oil change pump to pull the water an debris from the bottom of the tank. I used this method last year to remove all the fuel from the tank for fuel tank sending unit calibrations. I pulled a small amount of debris and approximately 1/4 cup of water.

Brian,

I have a plug where your aux tank pickup is located. I remove the plug to draw a sample of fuel from the bottom of the tank. That is why I wanted to know the size & shape of the fuel tank to make sure I was at the very bottom for my fuel sampling. Yesterday I took about a pint of fuel from the bottom of the tank and it was somewhat cloudy. Overnight about an eye dropper of water settled from the fuel sample. I plan to continue to remove fuel from the bottom of the tank until I get only pink fuel that I can see through. Hopefully this will not be a never ending task. I don’t think it is possible to ever remove all water/debris from a fuel tank but I want to get as much as possible with a reasonable effort.
