Subject: Fuel used by R-23/R-27's kicker motor ?

On my R-27/OB model I have the Yamaha 9.9HP kicker motor. It draws its fuel from the main 150 gallon tank as is used by the main F300 motor.

My Garmin 7612 and Yamaha engine display provide me with fuel used. The 7612 shows remaining gallons and the Yamaha engine display indicates fuel tank level with a vertical 10-bar graph.

I trust the 7612's remaining fuel figure.

If I shutdown my F300 and use the kicker motor for several hours with it drawing its fuel from the main 150 gallon tank will the 7612 know/compute how much fuel the kicker motor has consumed and reflect this in its remaining fuel number display ?

Thanks.... 🙂

I would think you have to look at the kicker like a generator using fuel and is not part of the Garmin fuel metering. You would need to reset by a total fill up to be accurate after use.
