There is a latch on the connector, It is only on one side of the plastic plug. If you run your fingers and thumb around the connector you should feel a flat spot. Squeeze that and it should unplug with little effort. The first time I did it, I held my phone under it and took a photo, then used the photo to "tell" my hand what to do. you can also print and save the photo in your engine manual. A mirror will work also. This way you will know what direction you are going when you disconnect. When reattaching, simply push on until the connector clicks. You may have to move the sensor from the old to the new filter.
I hope the gasket on the filter was greased The manual says you can lube the gasket with fuel, but that has not worked for me.
