Subject: FYI... Using Apple iPhone 6+ with Fusion radio
Previously for our new R-21EC I had indicated the iPhone 6+ would fit into Fusion radio's mobile phone/iPod tray. This is still true so long as any protective case is removed. However, even with the protective case removed it will not fit in entirely when the Fusion radio's integrated USB lightening cable is attached as there's insufficient room. At first I was a bit disappointed about this, but found one of the hanging cables from behind the radio under the counter has a USB connector. Using the radio's supplied USB-to-Lightening cable my iPhone 6+ could be connected without any issue. Of course the music playback can also be streamed to the radio via BT and found that works without issues after pairing using my iPhone 6+ and my Apple Watch. 🙂
I also found that many of my USB thumb drives I have with music on can indeed insert into the USB receptacle alongside the mobile phone tray but then the tray cannot be closed because the USB thumb drive is too wide/fat. Again, this can be resolved by connecting the USB thumb drive to the USB connector hanging off the back of the radio much like I mentioned for the iPhone above.
