I saw the wooden board placed on top of the R-27 galley sink when I reviewed the boat at Anacortes TrawlerFest last week. I'm assuming this is/was a standard stock item that comes with the R-27 purchase. Not wanting to be outdone by the many enhancements Ranger Tugs has made between my R-25 and the new R-27 and to put off the tempting question of upgrading to an R-27 I opted to mimic this sink board, but with a slight modification.
I opted for a board that sat securely on the sink just like for the R-27 but wanted a gap to allow food scraps to be pushed off it into the sink. I found just what I wanted dimensionally at my local Bartell Drug store of all places. For $15 I got myself a seasoned bamboo cutting board, placed 4 padded grommets on the board to fit the rim of the sink and which allowed the board to be slid back and forth as well as protecting the galley's counter top if the board was ever placed there. Now, what more has the R-27 got that I don't have on my R-25...
BTW... where do people attach the sink plug chain to ?
