The RT 31 has (2) 30 Amp Shore Plugs.
There is no elegant place to mount (2) GI's, or a single 60 amp GI near the Plugs or Breakers.
The Port Lazarette has ample wooden bulkhead space to mount the GI's.
My question please... I researched quite heavily the installation instructions both on TugNuts and YouTube.
YouTube was chock full of Testing info, but almost zero installation how-to's.
I'd like to install (2) 30 amp units, and merely tie into the ground (green) wires that travel right above where the units will be mounted... however, the wires that I want to splice into are AFTER the Breakers... NOT before the breakers, and not before the Plug receptacles. In my reading here in Tugnuts, some folks use (remove and use) the existing green wire that is/was tied into the Breakers, some tie into the Receptacle before the Breakers... and in both cases, a "new" green wire is built and brought from the GI back to either the Breaker(s) or the Receptacle(s).
Is it an issue if I break into the green wire AFTER the Breakers -- but before the main ground bus bar? This obviates the need to build a separate green wire, and, lessens the final amount of the green wire (do not have to build a new and separate green wire)
Thank you in advance.
