R31 is fairly new to us and the zincs seem to be eroding pretty quickly.
Like to install an isolator.
Anybody have any suggestions on model and costs?
Thanks
Ken

What year is your r31? Our previous 2021 r31 came with a pro mariner fail safe galvanic isolator factory installed. The cost of a 30 amp pro mariner isolated is about$400. Install is pretty easy so if you hire it a can’t imagine more than $300. Handy people can install themselves but you need to be comfortable with tying into the 120 volt shore power wiring.
With the isolator we could get one year out of the large plate zinc on the transom, 6 months or more out of the prop zinc. One year on thruster anodes (these are only available in aluminum for sidepower thrusters) 6 to 8 months on the trim tabs. But they are not bonded to the large zinc plate on the transom. The trim tabs do not bolt through the hull so no attachment point available to bond.
These timeframes are acceptable to me and we are in Puget Sound so salt water.
