I want to add a galvanic isolator to our boat. I thought they would normally go on the shore power wire before it hit any devices. The question is we also have a factory installed generator? So do I use two isolators? Or is there a place where I can take care of the feed from both the generator and the shore power connection? Thank You in advance.

The isolator is installed in line with the green safety ground from the shore power only. Must be installed before any other connection to that ground. I put mine in just prior to the shore power breaker. No need to isolate your generator ground.

Dave,

The isolator is protection from stray current from the marina shore power. I installed mine in the battery box. If you wait till we arrive in Marathon I can show you my installation. I also us a sacrificial zinc fish and the isolator must be working because my fish has relatively little deterioration and my zincs last considerably longer.

Thanks to all for the replies. Mike we are waiting for you and Jess, Brian and Colleen. Movie night tonight at the marina, free popcorn and candy and the movie "Bridge of Spies"
