Garmin 8612xsv MPG not working

2021 RT27ob. I’m seeing accurate gps speed data and accurate fuel remaining data on my Garmin Chartplotter as I speed along, but the mpg data reads 00.0. How can that be? It worked perfectly when I got the boat but started acting up a couple of weeks ago. Help.

By the way, the Yamaha monitor to the right of the 8612 reads accurate mpg.

If you had this problem with an inboard I would say it is likely that the Volvo engine is not communicating on the NEMA 2000 network. Last time this happened to me it was due to a Volvo software update and I resolved it working with Volvo and the Volvo App. On my R29 the fuel displayed on the Chartplotter is calculated Independant from any engine data.
