Looking for some advice. We have a Garmin 7215 on our 2014 R29. We want to add a new Blue Chart Vision for the US from Florida up to New York and the Great Lakes.

Two questions:

1. Is the 7215 compatible with the G3 Vision Blue Chart or should I stay with the G2 version.

2. I see there is a G2 Vision HD (which seems to be more readily available). Again, is the Garmin 7215 compatible with this HD version.

I have looked at the Garmin web site but it is not clear to me what version I should, purchase.

I do see there is a SD card for all US waters plus the Canadian Pacific waters - is it available in G2 or G3 Vision.

Thanks for any info

I would call Garmin on this. They may even tell you that you might need a firmware upgrade to use the G3.

I’m not sure there are any real benefits in using the G3 charts in a 7215. In any case I don’t believe Garmin lists the G3 as compatible. As long as you get the Vision series you will get all the features available in the 7215, most notably auto-guidance. If you can still buy the G2 version it should be all you need.
