Garmin BlueChart g2 Vision

With the Garmin 5212 one can use the Garmin Bluechart g2 Vision SD cards. Have others had any experience with using these SD cards and in your opinion do they add value ?
 
Got my Puget Sound area Garmin BlueChart g2 Vision SD card today. The card actually is a mini card that plugs into the standard SD card. I was disappointed that I could not make a backup of it for safekeeping. I placed it into my SD card reader connected to my Apple Mac pro and found that it would not even mount. 🙁 I will insert it into my Garmin 5212 tomorrow and I hope it is recognized/discovered.
 
I use it all the time in Alaska for shrimping and fishing - good to find shelves to set pots on, holes in bays fish or shrimp may be laying. I also use it for anchoring in coves - good to find holes to set the hook. It is also great for displaying onshore features such as lakes, streams where fish may be - and I use it a lot for hiking - to reference access points to mountains and rivers (I do a lot of climbing also).
