I have a Garmin 7215 plotter and installed a wifi system with an external antenna and a standard WiFi router following the guideance in Pat McQueen's post that I found here on Tugnuts. http://www.patmcqueen.com/home/garminmarine
All of my wifi equipment works on 12v DC, unlike the Garmin option, so the solar panel provides power for the wifi components and an on-board web camera that allows me to watch the boat from my mobile phone whenever I am not there. This wifi setup also support the Fusion Ipad and IPhone app to control the Fusion stereo and it also works with the Garmin Blue Chart Mobile app to transfer waypoints, routes and tracks between an Ipad / IPhone and the plotter and to use the boat's GPS antenna with the Ipad. The feature that I have not been able to get to function is the transfer of weather data from the Garmin Blue Chart Mobile app to the plotter. This would be a great feature, if it worked, eliminating the cost for XM weather by overlaying weather data on the navigation chart for a mere $10.00 per season, presuming that you have cell service on your boat. So far, Garmin tech support has been no help.

Has anyone successfully transferred live weather data from the App to a 7215? What setup do you use?
