Garmin change of ownership question

We just took ownership of a 2018 R-23 and are very proud and happy (so far) with our new to us tug. Our R-21 is in great hands. My question. The Garmin unit is still registered under the previous owner and although the unit appears to do everything I need it to do, how do I transfer the unit to my name?

Call Garmin support, once they are back up and recovering from their ransomware outage today. They will assist you through all of the steps. I just went through it myself. It will be much easier if you have the contact information for the previous owner. Garmin required an email relinquishing the vessel.
