On my GARMIN display if I dig into the menu there is an Event Log
Recently I had a check engine alarm that is as yet undiagnosed but involves the oil pressure sending unit ground and the Interface module that is discussed in another post.
On the SAME day and time the following events were registered in the GARMIN log:
CHECK ENGINE
ABNORMAL POWER DOWN
SOFTWARE UPDATE
What do these events mean and what does it suggest happened? There was no software updates to the GARMIN attempted. Is this an update the engine sent to the i8150P interface?
There is no specific indication of what the CHECK ENGINE alarm is about.
How can I find out more about these messages?

Hello LET IT BE,

If you have a check engine alarm the best way to check it would be to go to the engine display itself. There should be a code there that will tell you more info.

To power down, you need to make sure the ignition is turned off before killing the battery switch. Otherwise the engine doesn't know why it lost power.

More than likely you need to update the Garmin software which you can download through Garmin's website. You'll want to save the new software to a blank SD card.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
-Kenny

Thanks Kenny
But the GARMIN software is up to date. And the key was used to shut the engine down as normal. Battery switch off when leaving the boat. The Yanmar i560 gauge revealed 0 error codes when I go into the menu??????
