Hi,
I started using the autopilot late this summer now I use every time out we go out. Problem is Saturday it stopped working!
I get a message on autopilot screen that it can't find the module. Tried turning all battery switches off and restarting but still get same message. Has anyone else have this happen and what was the fix or does anyone have a suggestion on what to check or do i need a new system.

Thank you.

Locate the “Autopilot Pump” 40 amp fuse on your boat. On my 2012 R27, that fuse is in a Power Distribution Panel (PDP) near the battery switches. On your R29, the electrical system set up is likely in a different configuration, but somewhere on your boat that 40 amp fuse exists.

When you find it, check to see if it is blown or if the blades have significant corrosion. Corroded blades were the reason the autopilot controller wasn’t being powered on my boat and that was the cause of the error message “Searching for Autopilot Controller.”

Good luck.

When I get that msg it has been the GHC-10 connection on the back of the unit. I simply disconnect and reconnect and all is well.

I had the same problem and reseating the connectors did the trick, but the real problem was the connector on the course computer unit buried under the helm, Once I reseated the larger of the two connectors it did the trick. I have not seen this problem since then.
