When i put my Garmin in the heading hold position the boat veers sharpley to the port side. (This is a new occurance.) I've experimented in all current and sea conditions and get the same result. Anyone out there have this happen to them? This particular Garmin is one of the older models, the 5800 series.

Does your compass need re-calibrating?

I've accidentally put my Garmin into other settings such as circling. Any chance it could be this?

Another thing is that it could be in reverse mode, I did that the other day. Press the "Direction" button and make sure there isn't a logo of a boat with the bow facing down on the top right of the screen.

thanks for the input, but it's neither of these.

Do you display the heading lines COG and HDG? If so do they point in the direction your going prior to engaging hold heading? If so I would reach out to Garmin tech support.
