During the rendezvous I had the pleasure to talk about an important feature of the vhf200 as installed in the my r27
Took a while with the farming folks at hand to confirm that since we had no system at hand to test it.
The vhf200 has an automatic foghorn built in that can be used if you have an external speaker. The good thing is that you can use it while also using it as radio. (My old standard Verizon apparently did not)
During fog or impaired visibility a skipper is required to sound an audible signal every so often and during such conditions being able to se the radio is also important.
You can turn on the foghorn and then switch to vhf mode while the radio does it foghorning in the back ground
