Unless the "scratches" are from something white rubbing the green hull, you're gonna need a little colored gel coat.

I had some scratches in our red gelcoat and called Andrew or Kenny for advice. With a proper sand paper, rubbing compound, glaze and waxing you might be able to bring the color back, I was able to. However if what you're describing is the white underneath your green gelcoat Charlie's advice stands. It's a least worth a call to the factory guys.

I have not done a gel coat repair myself, but the procedures given on West Marine site http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wc...Id=11151&catalogId=10001&page=Gelcoat-Repairs look pretty simple.
