Generator wont start

Day 3 with or Ranger 29. Cant start the gen. Indicator light/switch flashes 7 times = no water flow. Do I need to have my engine running to start the gen? Does it have dedicated water pump? Any feedback would be great, thank you,

Do you have the seacock open? Could also be the impeller or something clogging your raw water intake.

No, the engine does not need to be running to start the genset. But the raw water seacock needs to be opened. It should be located on the port forward side of the bilge (see page 13 of the owner’s manual). You also need the thruster battery switches on.
