You are cordially invited to a Ranger Tug Get Together on Sunday October 24th at 11:30am at Safe Harbor Hideaway Bay Marina on Lake Sidney Lanier, Flowery Branch, Georgia.

If you think you can come with your boat please let me know so I can reserve courtesy dock space for you. I can be reached either thru TugNuts or directly via email at hwhayes@me.com

Hope to see you there!

Harry,

It's a little too far away for me, but for those close enough to make the trip, what does Flowery Branch have to offer? Bakeries are always a big hit, as well as comfort food restaurants. Any good fishing out there on Lake Lanier, or quiet coves to anchor up after your rendezvous is over?

Give me a reason to make the trek next year for your second annual rendezvous!

Good points Bob,

Here's some background about the area where the get together will be held.

Lake Sidney Lanier encompasses 38,000 acres (150 km2) or 59 square miles (150 km2) of water, and 692 miles (1,114 km) of shoreline.

Federal, State and Local Governments operate parks around the lake with public boat ramps, camping and swimming beaches. In addition to the parks there are a number of islands in the lake with coves for anchoring. And if you venture to the northern end of the lake you will find the still active rowing venue where the 1996 Olympic rowing competition was held.

Here's a link to the Corps of Engineers navigation map for the lake:

Flowery Branch is just one of many cities on or near the lake, Atlanta being the largest of course. There is a very good restaurant in the marina (Fishtales) and within walking distance, 3/4 mile or so one can find a local brewery, sandwich shops, an excellent pizza parlor Peyton's Pie Company, and if you have the resources the Antebellum Restaurant is one of the top fine dining choices in Metro Atlanta.

I hope that gives you and others a little insight and reason to venture south next year.

Harry,

Thanks for that insight into to the locale... I grew in the Chattanooga / Signal Mountain area, not too far northe of Flowery Branch. I cut my nautical teeth, if you will, on Lake Chickamauga, where fishing and water skiing occupied my younger self.

Good luck gathering your participants in your Lake Sidney Lanier Rendezvous... have a great time!

Ps: you might also reach out to The Hull Truth... unless you want to keep it brand-specific.

We had a very successful first try at a rendezvous for Ranger Tugs on lake Sidney Lanier in Georgia.
As our list grows we plan on having another event in the future.
We had a great cross section of Ranger Tug models represented: R21, R21EC, R25 inboard, R25 outboard and R29CB
Thanks to those who participated we all learned so much from each other.
The marina posted a note about the event here;
