While we like to trailer our R21EC around the Southeast our boat is kept most of the time on Lake Sidney Lanier, a Corps of Engineers lake just north of Atlanta Georgia. We have met two other Ranger Tug owners on the lake and I am sure there are more. Since the “World of Ranger Tugs” map is inactive I would be interested in communicating with other Ranger Tug owners in Georgia, especially with access to Lake Lanier. If there is enough interest it would be fun to have a gathering somewhere on the Lake during the nice fall weather. Anyone interested please respond to this message and/or contact me at hwhayes@me.com

Thanks for your post. My wife and I purchased an R25 in Feb 2021 and we keep the Tug on Lake Lanier. We live on the lake near Young Deer Park. We would very intersted in meeting other Ranger Tug owners. I will reach out to you through email with contact information.

Hello,

We are pleased to announce a get together of other Ranger Tugs at Safe Harbor Hideaway Bay Marina on Lake Sidney Lanier, Flowery Branch, GA. It will be an opportunity to share stories and lessons learned about our boats.

The marina has agreed to let us use their courtesy docks to meet. A tentative agenda would be to meet on the docks beginning around 11:30am, walk around and check out the boats and afterwards — for those interested have a dutch treat lunch at Fishtails Restaurant adjacent to the courtesy docks.

FYI, special attendees will be Brian Chapin and Karen Silverthron who recently completed the Great Loop in their Ranger R25 “Tug Life” and now have it back safely on Lake Lanier. They were featured recently in a Gainesville Times article.

We would like to hold this gathering on either Saturday October 23rd or Sunday October 24th.

Please respond with one of the following answers:

A. Yes, I can come either day, Saturday or Sunday,

B. Yes, but I can only come Saturday October 23rd

C. Yes, but I can only come on Sunday October 24th

D. Sorry, I cannot come either day

We will compile the responses and send out another email with the date selected. And don’t worry, if you think you can’t come but plans change, just come ahead. This is a very informal first gathering.

We had a very successful first try at a rendezvous for Ranger Tugs on lake Sidney Lanier in Georgia.
As our list grows we plan on having another event in the future.
We had a great cross section of Ranger Tug models represented: R21, R21EC, R25 inboard, R25 outboard and R29CB
Thanks to those who participated we all learned so much from each other.
The marina posted a note about the event here;
