Hello fellow Tugnuts,

There have been various posts about getting together with other fellow Tugnuts while cruising in Florida this winter . We will be starting our cruise from Ft. Pierce (January 26th) after spending a few days stocking up and a little rest after the ride from RI. From there we will be heading to Stuart and then to the West Coast of Florida via the Okeechobee, hitting Ft Myers around February 6th and then heading south to Key West. From Key West we will meander through the keys heading north on the east side and back to Ft. Pierce by the last week of March. We will send out posts with our location and intended stops along the way. we will also post to our blog - http://illusionsmikeandjess.blogspot.com. So if anyone cruising out there wants to get together along the way, give us a shout and hopefully we can meet.

Mike & Jess

Mike and Jess,

We are due in to Moss Marina in Ft Myers Beach on Feb 6th and would love to get together. We'll just be arriving with boat in tow so won't be ready to cruise for a few days but would love to catch up. We are planning a cruise to the keys at some point during the month, but details haven't been finalized.

If we don't connect we'll see you in Essex in August.

Great, I have put together a loose itinerary and we have just a few commitments along the way so I am sure we can meet up, so keep in touch.

We'll also be in Florida, our cruising starts from Tarpon Springs around January 16th. We'll be working our way down the west coast until mid February before getting to the Keys for the month of March. There was a post discussion of a possible together in the Ft. Myers Beach area so I hope we can make it in time. I've started to keep a list of names of those that have expressed an interest in a get together and or will be on the west coast of Florida:

Illusions, Knotflying, Kismet, Ainokea, BayRanger and Tangent are the boat names that I have, is there anyone I've missed? Let me know and I'll add your name. Could this be the largest ever gathering of Ranger Tugs in Florida?

Jim - don't forget Gipetto

By the way Rich and Cheryll Odendahl
on Roam will also be in the area.

Ted

Roam e-mailed me and said they will be in the Ft. myers area starting around February 3rd. So far it seems to me early February in Ft. Myers will be the place to congregate.

I've added Gipetto and Roam to the Florida get together list, this makes eight.

Jim

Tangent will be docked at Salty Sam's Marina in Ft. Myers Beach from 1/15 to 3/15, with cruises up and down the coast from there. Karin and I look forward to a rendezvous with any and all of you Tugnutters who will be in the area.

Just as noted by Jim Favors, I've kept a list of Tug boat names that will likely be in the Ft. Myers Beach area (or elsewhere in Florida) as follows:
Ainokea
Alto
Bay Ranger
Gipetto
Illusions
Kismet
Roam
Snug Tug
Tangent
Tuggin Aweigh

Karin and I would love to get together with all of you who will be in the area of Ft. Myers Beach.

Send me a private message so that we can exchange cell phone numbers to make getting together possible. I suggest that we all exchange cell phone numbers by private message to facilitate getting together.

HOWEVER, If you are comfortable with providing me with your name, cell phone number, email address, etc., then I am willing to centrally compile this list and re-distribute it to everyone who will be in Ft. Myers Beach or nearby. That way we don't all have to exchange with every person.

If you want to participate in this central list, which I will then re-distribute to all who participated, then send me a Private Message with this info:

Name(s)
Boat Name
Cell Phone Number
Email address (important so I can re-distribute the list to you)
Approximate date to be in Ft. Myers Beach area (or other Florida area if you wish)
Any other information you want to provide

Merry Christmas

Thanks Dale and Karen, we look forward to meeting up with you. It looks like with the additional names you have we're up to ten. I'll send our info in a PM.

After a couple of days we're heading south via Naples, Marco, Everglade City, Goodland then on to Boot Key Harbor, Marathon in the Keyes. Our return trip to Fort Myers should be approx. mid March.

Alto is in Key Largo at the Pilot House marina for the winter. Gail and I join her about the last week of each winter month; however, we'll be there the last two weeks of January. Will try to make any Ft. Myers gathering by rental car if it occurs within our time frame for visits. Please visit us at the Pilot House marina if and when you reach the keys.

Please add 'POPPY' to your list of Rangers in Florida. Caroline and I plan to leave Palm Coast, mid to late Jan. 2012 and make our way down the Atlantic ICW to Miami - 7 to 10 days, anchoring out whenever possible. After a few days on our other dock in Keystone Islands we hope to visit Key Largo and after a couple more days return to Palm Coast via Miami. Back in Palm Coast possibly late Feb.
Being Britts we don't have the time to make it across to the Gulf side on this trip, but all the best to those that make the rendevous. It would however be great to come across another Ranger somewhere but can't make definate plans.
Our contact numbers are:- Mobile:- 386-864-5272,& email:- djp.cep@btinternet.com

Tug Nutters cruising the Sunshine State -

Bay Ranger made it to Marathon Marina and Boatyard today. We'll be here through the end of February for anyone cruising the Keys during that time. Shoot us a PM if you'll be in the area and hopefully we'll be able to get together.

Happy New Year All!
Ed and Elaine
