I’m planning some front-of-engine maintenance on my 2015 R25SC, Volvo Penta D3-150, under 700 hrs or so, and before I schedule the work I’d appreciate some input from others who have done it. The engine is due for a timing belt, it aged out, and since the front of the engine has to be opened up anyway, I’m thinking it makes sense to do several things at the same time:

• Timing belt
• Timing belt tensioner
• Serpentine (accessory) belt
• Serpentine belt tensioner assembly
• Raw water impeller

It’s my understanding that the serpentine belt has to come off to access the timing belt, it seems smart to replace that belt and possibly the tensioner while everything is already apart. The impeller is also right there in the same general working area, so it seems like a good opportunity to take care of that as well. For those who have had this done on a D3-150 in an R25, I’m curious about two things:

How many labor hours did/would the whole job take when all of these items were done together?

Any recommended sources for the parts (OEM or good aftermarket) that you’ve had good experience with? I know the parts department may help but who else?

I’m mainly trying to get a realistic idea of the labor time for the complete package with Hagadone’s service manager so I can better evaluate the quote when I talk with them.

Thanks in advance for any insight.
