Looking at a GM truck. Have an EZ Loader trailer that I got with my 27. Hear that there are brake controller issues with GM and EZ Loader (GM controller will not work with the EZ Loader electric over hydraulic brakes). Has anyone had any direct experience with this? Is anyone using a GM truck with this trailer? I am also consulting with EZ Loader Trailer people. Thanks

We took delivery of a new R27 in August and it sits on an EZ Loader trailer with electric over hydraulic brakes. We also have an 2011 GMC with the factory installed integrated brake control and it all works just fine. Our truck has dual batteries and alternators and according to the manual there is a wire on the wire harness on the port side of the engine compartment that needed to be connected for auxlilary trailer controls, the wire connector is between the battery and the fuse box. I connected it but I'm not real sure if this was for trailer lights or to activate the brake control. At any rate our trailer brakes work. Let us know the outcome. Also ask Andrew at Ranger Tug, he may have some insight.

GM pickup trucks normally come from the factory with the wire from the electric tow brake control pin at the rear bumper, disconnected and the free end tie wrapped up under the fuse box... Your dealer will connect this wire for free in warranty - takes all of 90 seconds...
From what I see the incompatibility issue with EZloader trailers has been resolved by EZloader on their currently produced trailers...

The EZ Loader that came with our new C28 had an electric brake controller securely taped to the winch post of the trailer.
I guess that's one way for EZ to solve any compatibility issues!

However, the trailer brake controller installed on our 2011 Ford works perfectly, and with the gain set to 10, at highway speeds the whole rig stops as though we were just driving the truck on its own.

The 2011 Dodge is plug and play with the EZ Loader electric over hydraulic brakes.
