I'm missing Canadian waters this year again as much as anyone. I recently went down Hood Canal to Alderbrook for the first time on Daisy, and loved it. There's so much good stuff along the canal. Scenery, wild shorelines, neat parks and communities.
Hood Canal is my new Canada for now.

Alderbrook is *especially* beautiful (I may be biased; it's where my wife and I got married). Did you spend the night at their dock; we haven't done that yet...

Staying on the giant T dock is great. Full access to all the Lodge amenities - indoor pool and hot tub, fire circles, good restaurant and bar, well maintained hiking trails, and more. Plus free dockside pump-outs.

Cheers,

Bruce

Yes I did stay on their dock. Very good experience, and great view. Loved the pools and restaurants along with good hiking. Also liked that they posted a sign to let you know you could lose the mask if you were vaccinated.

Thanks for posting Ernie. In all our years of boating in the Salish Sea, Hood Canal is the one area we haven't explored yet. It's on our to do list this summer.

Depending on the speed of your boat, or your preferred cruising speed, Pleasant Harbor is a nice place to stop over if you don't want to make the run all the down to Alderbrook in one day.

Cheers,

Bruce

One of our favorite places and, in a lot of ways, we prefer it to the San Juans. We are building a house in Port Ludlow (and already have a slip there) so from our home port of edmonds we usually overnight in PL one night.

We were down at Alderbrook a couple of weeks ago. Bring your VAX card because you get a wristband and can roam the property mask free (most people were).

Also- they offer room service to your vessel if you're staying overnight on the dock.
