Is there any practical way to have a gray water tank in the 31cb. ( for boaterhoming)?
New build and or retro fit on used boat?

This may be a bit primitive, but you could rig a hose from the sink/shower through-hulls into a portable grey water tank on the ground (RV places have them).

Boaterhoming! What a great idea, a polly tank in the bilge area, a Y-valve on the shower sump pump, gravity drain on sink, and a 12-v pump to empty, seems doable. Now the big problem is emptying the toilet holding tank using the mcerator into a RV dump station! Good luck I'm sure it can be done!

RV parks don't want any gray water being dumped onto the ground. So for TOUCAN, we made a 3 port manifold to connect the galley and head sinks and the shower sump thruhulls into a garden hose that feeds into the sewer line at RV parks. We bought a sewer drain plug that the garden hose screws onto. We made a separate unit to connect the black water macerator pumpout thruhull into a garden hose in case the black water tank needs to get drained. You do need to get a full hookup spot to get the sewer standpipe.

Barry,
For your black water garden hose connection did you replace the thruhull with one that connects to the hose or is it a Y valve inside the boat with the hose connection inside? If it a replacement for the thruhull, what fitting did you use? I have been looking for one to allow hooking a hose on the outside. This would allow me to easily pump out into a RV dump station.
Thanks

For the black water we just use a 1 inch OD garden hose and cut the ends off. Push it into the macerator thru hole (you can put a little dish soap just on the end to facilitate working it in for a good seal if needed). To be safe I stand there with rubber gloves to hold it in but have not had a problem with it being pushed out with the macerator on. Stick the other end into the RV dump or into our septic tank when at home. Works good and doesn’t require any connection hardware.

Crazyheart, I made an aluminum pipe with an O-ring seal to fit inside the existing thru hull. The other end is attached to a male garden hose fitting. The method that S@LTD proposes would work just as well. I considered just pushing a piece of reinforced vinyl tubing into the thruhull with an assortment of fittings ending with a male garden hose fitting.
