Grease Specification.

We have recently purchased a Ranger 29S. I am learning about the various systems and am curious what the grease brand and spec is for the rudder shafts? I ask this with the understanding that all suspension soaps used in various grease products are not always compatible with one another. For this reason I would like to use only the product that was initially used during assembly at the factory. Could someone please provide this information. Thank you.

I called and spoke with the manufacturer this morning. They use a product called 'Quicksilver Marine Grease 2-4-C with PTFE'.

2-4-C is good stuff. Used it on my Mercruisers for years, and on trailer wheel bearings. You should be able to find it at any Mercury or Mercruiser dealership.
