Great Loop

Pookie II, Ranger 25, is doing the Great Loop, presently on the Trent-Severn Waterway in Canada. We left our home port of Joe Wheeler State Park Marina in Rogersville, Alabama February 23, 2009. Has a Ranger Tug 25 ever completed the entire Loop?

Evan, It is good to see your post and know that you are doing well on the loop. You may not remember but I met you at the looper's rendevous in Oct. and I live on the river near Wheeler State Park. We also had lunch together at Port St. Joe,Fl. while you were waiting to cross down toward Tampa. Look forward to seeing more of your posts. Good luck with the remainder of your trip. Mark at Wefings now has my R21 for sale and told me that you were over to visit them and saw the R29.

We just completed the deal to purchase Ebbtide, A 2007 Ranger-25 from Phil Richie in Florida. They had purchased the tug with the sole purpose of doing the loop. It is my understanding that they completed either late last fall or early spring.

We've gone from Cape May to the Eire and Champlain canals (and lake Champlain of course). Not enough time to do the whole loop ourselves but we dream of it one day. Let me know when you are in the NY area and we can meet up with out tugs.
