I was talking to Airmar about possible transducer upgrades for the GT-15. Some of the choices are dependent on which MFDs you have. Mine are 7612s. I've never been comfortable with in hull options since FM would never say clearly where they recommend putting it (got forward of the first step might work). These two will apparently fit the space where the GT 15 is located.
The second one ,for my 7612s, would require a Garmin Black Box: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/c/marine/sonar-black-boxes/ in order to use dual CHIRP. I'm wondering if anyone has looked at these options or the Black Boxes. Unless there is a marked difference in performance, I am going to stay with the GT-15. I think that means only the second one with dual CHIRP is a viable option.
