Happy New Year to all our Tugnuts friends, old new and the ones we have yet to meet!

In the words of Mark Twain
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed in the things you did not do than the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

We wish you fair winds and following seas, and above all Happy Tugging!

The crews of Karma and Moondance celebrated a New Year's Eve 36 floors above downtown Seattle, with a viewing of the Space Needle fireworks. Happy New Year from Seattle.

What a year it has been! Last evening while hanging on the hook in Andrews Bay on Lake Washington, Maureen and I reflected back on 2011.

I start the year by blowing out my left ACL in Alaska on New Years Eve (maybe 2012 will find me getting it replaced....)
February 1st, Karma heads to the Bay Area to be sold.....
March, Maureen and I move to Castle Pines Colorado
June, we retrieve Karma from the broker in the Bay Area and head to Lake Shasta in Northern California for a week of fresh water cruising. Then it is off to Puget Sound and Karma's new home in Eagle Harbor
August finds us cruising the Gulf Islands with Lyman and Janeane starting in Ganges with a BBQ hosted by Gail and Patrick on "Thats It"
September, Bremerton for the third annual Ranger Tug Owners Rendezvous
October, November, and December finds us cruising various ports on Puget Sound
Christmas week, we try to make an escape to the San Juan Islands to hook up with Patrick and Gail to be turned back time and time again by the weather. We finally make it out to Blake Island where we are holed up for two days. When we do make our departure and attempt to go north, the wind once again beats us back to Stimsons. From Stimsons we travel by land yacht for a two day stay at Lake Wenachee with the Crew of Zuma. And then, we top it off with dinner with Bruce and Vicki and a trip to the 36th floor of the Olive at 8 building in downtown Seattle to see 2011 out and 2012 in, by watching the fireworks shot off from the Space Needle!
Indeed, what a year it has been.

We have also come to the conclusion that while our furniture, mail, cars, and clothes are mainly located in Colorado, our true home is here in Seattle. We have met so many great people through owning a Ranger Tug that it actually amazes us. Even Bruce pointed out on New Years Eve, we have more friends in the PNW than in Colorado (we did inform him we have no friends in Colorado save Bridget and Stuart of R-29 Sprit of Gratitude, down in Pagosa Springs).

Thanks to each and every one of you for being such special friends and people! As Bruce has pointed out so many times, when you buy a Ranger Tug, you are not buying a boat, you are buying into a lifestyle!

Once again, Happy New Year to all of you!

David and Maureen

Dave & Maurene,
I read your post from a few years ago when I was trying to find the owners of the "Spirit of Gratitude". We are moored in the same harbor as they are , Channel Islands, and would like to contact them. Do you have contact info you could share?
Thanks,
Onze Tug
