For those who don't track the coming and going of our Salish Sea Orcas, this exiting entry is from this morning's Orca Network Whale Report:

The HARBOR RANGER, a Ranger Tug 25 was cruising across by Pt. Defiance about 12:30 today (Feb. 2nd). We saw a couple of boaters then saw several fins - turned out to be at least 20 or more Orcas, adults and several babies cruising in Commencement Bay between the Tacoma Yacht Club and Vashon Ferry run. They seemed to come down West pass and go around the end of Vashon - then headed back up Colvos. We enjoyed watching them for about 1 and ½ hours - beautiful and majestic and awesome!!!!

Wow! Congratulations Gary & Rosalie. So glad you were out on the water. And thanks for reporting to the network.

Cheers - Bruce & Vicki

Bruce, thanks for the posting on Tugnuts. When we go out we always say "Maybe we'll see some Orcas today", and never do. Or we get out there and say, "We will see Orcas today because we forgot the camera". Well, yesterday we scored. We had the camera and we saw many whales. We'll try to post some pictures on our gallery soon. G and R

Can't wait to see those pics. You lucky devils.... 🙂

I'm taking the Red Ranger out to the same spot tomorrow...keeping my fingers crossed to see more Orcas!!!

Hey Johnnie - lots of activity reported in the Puget Sound over the last 36 hours. You can check on sitings here. If you're on FaceBook, check them here. On Twitter, here. These both provide real-time reporting.

Cheers,

Bruce
