I'm planning a trip to the San Juan Islands this summer. I will be shipping my boat (R-31) from the SF Bay area.
I'd like a recommendation for a good yard in the area near (and preferably North) of Seattle to put it in the water, and possibly have them do some work.
Also, I'd like a recommendation for a near by marina to stage the trip from, and shippers to ship the boat.
Thanks in advance.

Check with Cap Sante Marina in Anacortes. A year ago they charged $59 (or $89 round trip) to pull an R29 off a trailer and into water. Another place in Anacortes wanted $23 one way. I don't know if you c

last reply got cut short....
Don't know if Cap Sante will do work on boat.

You might try Bitter End Boatworks in Bellingham, they've done work on my R27 for several years, also do diesel work.

You could try Port Townsend on the west side of the Sound. Have your boat hauled and put on the hard. Do some work yourself or hire someone else. I split my work between myself and Gold Star Marine. They have Volvo techs.

My wife and I just took delivery of the R31 CB during October 2024. We looked all over the NW for what might be considered the best location for us and after too many discussions we found the best bang for the buck and availability of services was Dagmar's Marina (www.dagmarsmarina.com) in Everett.
Easy details, we pay $322/month for dry dock storage. The ins/outs of the water are part of the moorage fee (free). Because you are a 31' boat it will be a stern removal which is not a big deal, just don't watch the event! They pull the boat out with a very large fork lift, just unnerving to witness.
The location of Dagmar's is about half way from Seattle to the San Juan Islands - In my opinion, for the money well worth it.
