Good Afternoon Gang,

I attended the NY Boat show last week, and one of the Dealers featured the R25. After seeing this boat in person, I knew from that sighting Ranger was back on my list.

It is hard to see a boat online and figure what it would be to Live on. I currently work for an airline and I hope they plan to move to FL. If that does become reality I plan on somehow obtaining a R-29. I went to the local dealer and took some picutres of the new 29. Financing is going to be an issue...
I have scratched out all other boat prospects and all of my attention is on Ranger.

I have been looking for about 2 years doing research and other important information. I even spoke with Jeff over the weekend on Insurance costs. I do plan on doing a site survey shorty in WA. Flying for free has its benefits 🙂

I have also been in the market for my marine Capt. certificate. The NY Boat show also assisted with this~ One company is offering military advantage. I was more then happy to keep talking, this can get expensive but now it is in my reach and plan on completing this by the spring. I plan on using my knowledge and zest to assist with boat delieveries, or just help with knowlegde or how to enjoy boating.

After I do, somehow, complete my R-29 goal I look forward to meeting with you on cruises in the Florida area! I enjoy the Gulf Coast. ( Naples Marco Island area ) Or up in the Northeast until I can figure out my Florida move.

I am not even 30 yet, but unlike most of the college age people I am not a Drinker or Smoker. I am looking for a nice girl though. But I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts and look forward to reading more.

Please Keep me in mind for any Meet and Greets, or items I can assist or join on the Ranger Adventure. I am not a huge Forum poster, but I am always reading and following up.

I have not performed an age based analysis of our membership but at approx 30 you may find yourself somewhat outside the "norm". On the other hand I am sure you may have alreaady received quite a few replys from our female members.

Pretty ambitious plan... you and I are in a similar position. I'm in my early 30s and have been looking at either an R-25 or an R-29. Clearly the R-29 is a stretch financially. I do pretty well, but unless I was doing a live aboud situation, I'm not sure how I could justify it financially, which means most likely a R-25. It isn't just your payment that kills you, rather it is moorage and maintenance that is the real kicker.

I have also been keeping my eye open on the North Pacific 28, but it is a Chinese built boat. I prefer to keep my dollars stateside whenever possible.

I will say that I think Commander Bill is right... my guess is the majority of the crowd here is quite a bit older. That being said, that always seems to be the case in the boating community. Most cruisers I've met have always been older and there is nothing at all wrong with that. I've met some fabulous people and some very salty characters out there.

Hey Brian,
Just wanted to let you know that there are other 29 owners out here that do not drink or smoke. Oh life is Gooooood. I may be in my forties but my wife is in her lower thirties and is a aircraft mechanic. Some of my best friends range from the mid twenties to a guy who is 92 and still fly's his airplane all over the united states and mexico.
He and his wife come and meet us wherever we have the boat. Mexico,southern Cal, and so on.

Thank you for the replies so far 🙂 . I am on page 49 of the overall forums, just completed reading the 2800Mile ICW Trip.

I did not mean to sound like all boaters drink or smoke. That was not my intent, I am sorry if it sounded that way. I meant the age I am at, it seems that is all us young adults want to do on the weekend. ( Not Everone my age, just harder to find and meet people ) I recently sold my 18foot Larson. One of my vacations a friend and I drove it to Florida, I have a good family friend there. And we had it out everyday. Back and forth from Naples to Marco 🙂 That is my idea of a Good Day.

I know I am out of the normal age range for most cruisers 😀 . I enjoy the talking making those people connections; while listening to and also giving the information I know.

On another note: The dealer I saw last week said he received permission to sell the R-25 at a good deal ( Demo Boats ). I am still going with my R29 Dream. As much as I would love to be at the factory everyday watching my boat being built,just like any one that purchases a new house, I do not think that will be able to be accomplished due to the cost of a Brand New Boat. But who knows, only time will tell, but I am hoping on a nice Demo or something along those lines.

I enjoy the little things, I can spend all day cleaning, doing little things to my boat. Or just relaxing, showing people the boat ect.

Hope I did not come off wrong myself. I was just trying to point out that boaters are a very cool and diverse group. Most of our friends are drinkers. I was just pointing out that there are all kinds of cool folks out here with unique stories.
