Helm rocker switches

What is the purpose of the two bilge pump switches in helm? The pumps are automatic and independent of switches, correct? ON is when top is pushed in correct?

Why are wiper switches opposite? Wipers are ON when bottom is pushed in.

Do you have two-speed wipers center off the high and low speed depending on top in to bottom in.

Switches:
Top in is off
Center is slow
Bottom in is fast

Middle wiper blade is only one that shows much difference in speed between slow and fast

Yes, the bilge pumps are automatic. Unless the float or other activation method fails. The two helm bilge switches are to “force” the bilge pumps to come on, even if the automatic trigger has failed.
Unfortunately, those switches are easy to bump and turn on by accident. If not discovered, the pumps can run dry until they burn out. I put locking switches on mine so you don’t accidentally turn them on.
