HELP Ranger vent heater to hot problem HELP

I have a 2018 Ranger tug Its the best, HOWEVER the only problem is I cant sit in the seat to drive the boat because the heating vent is directed to my right leg and it gets so hot I have to get out of the seat because the heater is doing its job but not to cook my right leg. I have looking for some type of a vent deflector but no luck. Not sure if I can block off the vent there if that would cause a problem The other vent is in the berth, but I have to do something. Any input will help

Jim: Please clarify for us....is it too hot when the boat is running n the heater is on, off or both? I ask because if it is too hot when in the off position I think you could install an inline valve to keep the heated antifreeze from coming up to the heater thereby eliminating the hotness that emanates from the heater in the off position.

This is a Webasto diesel heater the heat is great but the one vent is coming out next to my right leg when I am piloting the boat other wise the heat is great. I hope this helps.

Wabasto makes a vent outlet that can be closed off if not needed. However one outlet has to be fully open on the Wabasto or it will overheat and could become a fire hazard. Check to see if the outlet vent in the stateroom is closeable, if so, swap the vents and the days of pre cannibalism will pass quickly.
I mounted my salon vent next to the engine heater, then built a platform over it so the heat was directed away from my feet, but I have a R27. One additional solution is to add extension tubing to other parts of the boat with closeable/directional vents. I did this to the forward stateroom and the head, makes the whole boat toastie warm on cool mornings. There is an outfit in Seattle that handles Wabasto parts and are very knowledgable and can make custom parts.

Thats a great idea I went on line and found a company that has vent diverter in Seattle (S M S).I will also call about fire hazard before I do anything with the vent system.The heater works great.
