Anyone spotted one of these in the areas of Fort Worden, Marrowstone Island, Port Angeles, Foul Weather Bluff, Poulsbo and Sequim? They're wireless communications buoys used by the Navy to detect water changes which could provide critical security information.

The buoys were developed by Intellicheck Mobilia of Port Townsend. You can see video and get weather and other data from their public site here, and get more information on Deborah Bach's post on Three Sheets Northwest.

Security data?
Like an illegal alien boat?

With all the pleasure craft they won't detect anything except a tsunami way too late.
Won't even find a drug runner.

I bet I might find some use of the semiconductors in it though.
