We’re getting ready to replace our four batteries (2 house, 1 starter, 1 thruster) in our 2015 C28. There was a recent good thread about thruster batteries and Odyssey seemed popular. For the House, we’re looking for two Group 31, deep cycle, batteries with dual positive and negative terminals. There are a few to choose from, but they all seem to be dual-purpose (for starting and deep cycle). Are there any dedicated deep cycle batteries out there that are not dual-purpose, or is dual-purpose the standard approach?

Thanks.

Most of the discussions have been about converting to lithium. However if you are happy with the amount of amp hours in your current battery bank use deep cycle on the house and starting on the thruster and engine.

That is our plan, with the only change of going from the current Group 27 to Group 31 for more performance. Just need to settle on two good deep cycle Group 31s.

On my CC30, I have 4 Duracell Platinum AGMs for the house, 110aH each, then one for start and one for thrust. Perfect combo for my use, but as some have suggested, Oddessey have been recommended for the Start/Thrust. They are substantially more $$$. IMG_5101.jpeg

I like it, especially the dual terminals. What Duracell battery did you use for the starter, or are all six of yours the same battery? Thanks.
