We have an 2012 25 sc ranger tug. The water pump for the house water(cabin) just runs and runs and runs. To make it stop I have to turn off the main panel switch. I have an RV and when the water pressure reaches a limit the pump turns off. Seems there should be a pressure switch in the pump? In my rv the water pump stops when the tank reaches a certain pressure.
any thouights?

Yes the water pump has a built in pressure switch that turns the pump off when the output side of the pump reaches the preset pressure.
The tank does not get pressurized just the output side of the pump.

So either you need a new pump or you have a water leak that isn’t allowing the pump to reach the preset pressure.

My pump pressure switch went bad and was stuck on until switched fried and blew fuse. Replaced pump and all was fine. Tested
old pump on bench and went to 200 psi with no switch. With switch it went to 42 psi, similar to a house. At 200 psi I had leaky fittings prior to blowing fuses. Yes I think I may have had my boat fresh water pressurized to 200 psi.
The exact same pump is on Amazon for $200 or you can be cheap and replace just the switch, 2 for $10 on Amazon
