I decided to pull my overheating boat and fix it in the shop with access to tools if I can figure out what the problem is. I am going to pull out the glass stairs and replace them with a removable set of Jarrah stairs. This way I think I will be much more prone to do the upkeep on the water pump end. If it needs to be replaced while at sea I will be able to do it rather than make myself crazy over it. While I am at it, I am going to install the "house zinc" and bond it to whatever is appropriate or whatever I can get to. I am looking for direction on where to put this on the transom of my R25sc from those who have already crossed this bridge. How is it bolted, with what kind of hardware, how is it water proofed at the penetrations and what do I need to look out for? How is it bonded to the other boat hardware? I will also install any other zincs that the more boat savy recommend. I have already heard that the swim support shafts could use donuts where they meet the water line and run a stainless wire from the hinged part of the trim tabs to the boat mounted hinge point of articulation. Any other suggestions?
Thanks so much for continued help. I am really appreciative of the help I have received from other owners and hope to be able to return the favor someday.
