As with most values, it CAN be displayed in a data box if you configure your kit that way.

LOL I had a laugh about all the lines ... I was imagining all the ruts in the grass. I have a 5th wheel , when I first got it my gps would have looked like this too.
 
Now do these same "driveway tests" under real conditions. Especially if you feel your chart plotter is wrong, compare with your paper charts and navigational skills. If you can display satellite information and the chart at the same time, that would definitely be ideal.
