I damaged my VHF antenna today. I have gotten a replacement antenna but need help understanding where the current cable run goes and how to replace the old cable with the new one. It is a 2008 Ranger Tug 25. Thanks for the help. We are currently on the Great Loop and are in St. Joseph, Michigan.

I got a response to the post from the factory. The spice rack needs to be removed. There are two finish pieces of wood at the top and bottom of the spice rack. They are held in place by finishing nails and can easily be pulled off. Two screws, one on top and one on bottom need to be removed before removing the spice rack. There is a cable run on the left side of the port hole.

We removed the finish panel at the head of the starboard side of the V berth with 4 screws. We fished the new cable, using the old one to the back of the VHF radio. Soldered the connection and plugged it in.

Thanks to Ranger Tug for the help with this one. Hope no one needs to make this repair but this should help if you do.

I have done that repair as described. An additional thought, get a SWR (signal wave ratio) meter that tests the quality of the radio's transmitting signal. Though the connections look right and felt right, it took three attempts at the wiring connection to get the quality of the signal right. When you need that VHF radio, you want the best signal possible going out.
