I have a 2013 RT25 and I want to remove the original TV mounting plate and install a new mount. I do not have the rest of the TV mount as it did not come with my boat. Any idea how the original TV mount is mounted? How do I gain access to uninstall? I tried to unscrew the screws but they just spin. What is it screwed into. Thanks in advance.

I hate to tell you this, but those screws are secured with nuts. The screws go through the roof and the nuts are located under the fiberglass stack tunnel on which the radar mast rests. If you are unfamiliar, the stack tunnel runs from under the radar mast aft to the false stack. The radar mast has to be removed to remove the stack tunnel. These jobs are not hard, but they do take time and care.

Here’s what it looks like on a 2012 R27 with the stack tunnel removed and laying on its side. It’s probably very similar to how your boat is built. The five nuts and washers arranged in the circle in the lower left of the photo are the hardware you need to access.

This photo was taken when I removed the stack tunnel to access wiring to the horns.

Thank you! I really appreciate the answer. Now I know what I’m dealing with and how to move forward.

And to explain the wire nuts visible in this photo, they were added as a temporary measure while troubleshooting inop horns. The horns were inop because of poorly crimped butt splices in the ground wire. The wire nuts were used to join wires together after cutting out the suspect butt splices. This is off topic, but those dual trumpet horns require 8 amps of 12V DC and that amount of current requires good connectivity and properly sized wire. The factory wiring is undersized for the distance from the power source.
