How to run the refrigerator on shore Power?

I just got a 2017 RT 29 S , so I’m new to it!
I tried to run the refrigerator/wine cooler and the cooling box in the cockpit while on shore power, but it would only run with the house battery switch in the on position. Is that the correct way to keep the above appliances running while in the slip?

I’m assuming the setup is the same as on the R25SC. The refrigerator is 12V only (regrettably). It runs off the 12V batteries. The batteries are replenished by the charger when on shore power.

They are 12 volt appliances so the house battery switch must be on. Being plugged in to shore power is important to keep those house batteries charged up. I had good luck keeping up with just the refrigerator (if you keep it closed) on the solar panel given a sunny day.
