How to wash a ranger hat

After a year of almost constant use in the "California heat" (yeah right) I find it necessary to wash this piece of clothing. Anyone have some advice how to do. Is the visor stiffener cardboard or plastic. Or is the hat unwashable?

Hi I just put mine in the wife's smalls bag then into the washing machine with no problem 🙂 I have washed mine 3 times and it still looks great ( nice and clean too) hehehehehe

lone ranger, It will arrive. I have 16 year old grand daughters; one of whom is a hat/cap person. They live in Germany. One year the cap grand daughter "forgot" and took my Ranger cap home. I told Jeff, or Andrew (forgot which one); they sent me another. The grand daughter returned my cap the following visit.

How about buying new tug? Maybe they'll throw in a new cap and you can relegate the old one to the collection at the back of your closet.

Actually, it is the hat that you are buying.....the Tug is the "gimme"...

You can buy a plastic frame made for washing ball caps. It helps maintain their shape. Then into the dish washer or gentle cycle in the clothes washer.
