I am very much looking forward to purchasing a R-21EC. I hope to see an example at the Tampa Boat Show in September. What options do I have for the custom hull colors? I don't see this information listed on the spec sheet or brochure.

Thank you,

Chris

Thank you! This is the information I needed. I assume good old "white" is also a hull color option.

I'm sure white is an option but......

We chose taupe for our new Cutwater. I believe we were one of the first, if not the first boat with this color option. I'd imagine the Rangers would also offer this as a choice. If I could figure out how to post a picture I would. If you want a photo, send me a PM and I'll e mail it to you.

Taupe is interesting--I'll send you a PM. I will spend most of my time boating in Florida and the boat will be in an uncovered slip. I've never owned a colored hull and was always told that they don't hold up as well over time in the hot Florida sun--white is cooler and I assume it doesn't fade like its colored counterparts. In fact, I don't see colored hulls too often in Florida.

Chris,
I sent you a photo via your e mail. I'll copy the message here in case it's relevent to anyone else thinking about colors...

"My wife and I liked several of the other colors, but the problem I’ve seen on dark colored hulls (blue, red and green especially) is that they show damage and wear more easily. On the flipside, my last four boats were all white and I was ready for a change.

Also, the Cutwaters and Rangers use colors to contrast different parts of the boat, I thought solid white would really wash out the unique design features. When we were ordering our boat at the Seattle Boat Show we saw a Searay next to the Rangers that had this taupe color. Jeff Mesmer said Ranger was considering something like that anyway, so he found out who made that color gel coat and incorporated it into their choices. Our boat was the first Cutwater in taupe; I’m not sure any Rangers have been rolled out with that color yet.

One final advantage of taupe is that it’s a good match for the deck and upholstery colors on the Cutwater. I’m not sure that’s necessarily true for the Rangers though."

Unfortunately Ranger does not offer the taupe color as this is only available for the Cutwater. The taupe is my new favorite color. Looks great on the Cutwater. If you would like to see some color samples, you are most welcome to contact the factory at anytime.

We offer the following colors.

Dark Blue
Ice blue (light blue)
Dark green
Laureen Green (Seafoam color)
Hero Red (Bright red)
Claret red (burgundy)
Light yellow

Linedoctor and Andrew,

Thank you very much for the information! Taupe is indeed a nice color on your cutwater--I could easily see it on a Ranger.

Chris
