I was inspecting under my hull and noticed a seam at the stern in front of the prop pocket. I am hoping that is part of the manufacturing ? Just never noticed it when the boat was out of the water

Until some other R29 owners weigh in, I'm going to suggest it may be a mold mark where several mold segments are used to form the tunnel. You could verify that in part by looking at the same area inside the hull. If no equivalent mark shows there, it is almost certainly a mold line.

it's definately a mould line.
The hull is moulded as a single piece ( see Sand Dollar II's album)....There are no seams in the hull.

This is a seam full of some kind of caulking It is like the last section of the keel was added after ? I am going to put a mask on and see if I can see more . Is a bit disturbing . Only because I thought was all 1 piece hull

Ok I just looked is the last 2 ft or so of keel has been added is a seam with glue or caulking where it adds on to the keel and the bottom of the hull I don't know how I didn't notice it when I looked at the boat out of the water .. Hoping it is factory and not a repair ? Although given the fit and finish on the boat the caulking or sealer doesn't look perfect

You are seeing the "Keel Extension" This is actually your shaft log. The prop shaft leaves the boat through this extension. This solid fiberglass part is bonded to the hull bottom and then capped with a stainless steel keel shoe. It contains your shaft log and cutlass bearing. The Rangers 25-31 and the Cutwaters have them.

Thank you .. I can relax knowing it is how it should be. I purchased the boat used and was just worried was a repair
I am learning soon I will be able to help others 🙂
