Our R31CB did quire well in the hurricane.
No hull damage, rub rail won, piling shaved with 5" water rise above fenders.
Cabin dry
Big problem lowered CB flew up to vertical and stayed for an hour in worst wind - maybe 70knts.
Should have removed canvas cover. It has slight tears that can be repaired.
We did remove all aft enclosure canvas. One support bow went wild but did not damage anything.
Major problem was folded and tied down bimini - should have removed, bow bent.
A support went through solar panel which still makes some current, but is broken.
Radio antenna and mount bent.
Major systems, steering, engine control, chart plotter, autopilot all OK.
Wire harness came loose and pulled connectors out of Sidepower controller and Bennett wire. Replaced all and working OK.
I can testify the RT is very well built!
Oh and we had to cancel October cruise as Marina we were going to is trashed.

Glad you and yours survived,4 years ago we lost EVERYTHING with superstorm sandy, including our home.i watched my boat and trailer float out of my driveway ,over the fence and disappear into the abyss,we just moved back home this may and replaced our boat with the 21.let us remember "there's no limit to how bad things can get".

Bill and Pat,
Did you lower the mast? When it was looking like Matthew might come up here we considered doing the same things you did with removing canvas. I was going to lower the CB and the mast to get the CG lower. The 31CB is very rolly-polly. We've taken video in only 30-35kts and it was pretty ridiculous. What damaged the solar?

Corey

lowered everything
should have removed CB bimini and CB canvas cover.
CB flew up vertically, bimini support went through solar even though tied carefully.
canvas has repairable tears, bimini frame bent, canvas on it OK as it was in boot.
radio antenna and mount bent. will try to post photos

Finally remembered how to post pictures - now ones on my photo album
