Non-Fluid Motion Model
Still in purchasing phase
Hello Tugnuts. I’ve got a 2019 ranger 29, and I cannot for the life of me. Find the hydronic fluid reservoir. Online apparently it’s on the starboard side underneath one of the flip seats, I wouldn’t know what one looked like if it smacked me in the face. Would anyone be kind enough to help me in this? A photo would really help.

Also, for oil,, on the dipstick, I’ve literally just gone into the criss/cross portion by the slightest amount and so no need to chop up yet but obviously Dan don’t want to overfill. Is there a sweet spot on the dipstick and if so, where and how much?

Hello,

The hydraulic reservoir is located under the rearmost access panel near the rudder on my 2017 R 29.

It is the white tank partially in view at the top of this photo.

I fill engine oil to the center of the normal range. It never moves from there between services.

Hope this helps.

If you add oil, or have recently run the engine, give it at least 30 minutes for oil to return to the pan before checking the dip stick. Otherwise it is easy to overfill.

Thanks. I wonder how much I’ll there is between the min and the max line. A quart ?
Yes, approximately one quart between the min and max lines. During oil changes, I have found that three gallons of oil gets me to the bottom mark on the dipstick. Then after running the engine and letting it sit for a good bit of time, I usually find that I add a half quart to get halfway between the min and max marks on the dipstick. Recall that the oil in the two oil filters partially drains back to the oil tank. That is why you need to give time after running the engine in order to get an accurate oil measurement. Letting it sit overnight gives you the most accurate oil level measurement.
