After storing our 2010 R25 on the hard this summer, we launched today and have an alarm on the i5601e display and "check engine" and "Main throttle" are highlighted. The alarm won't stop after starting the engine. Seawater seems fine out the exhaust and oil pressure looks okay. The batteries were low and the engine just barely started.
Does anyone have an idea? And is there a link to the manual for the i5601e display?
Thanks in advance for any help.

getting an error code will be helpful. The message on the screen is usually generic. Here is the button sequence:
With the ignition ON.

--Press button 5 for five seconds(far right) on your i5601E engine readout.
--Screen gives several choices and highlights DIAG CODES
--Press button 4 (reading from left)

Once you get the code I may be able to look it up. With all this said, it may be the throttle sensor. The engine throttle is electronic and not by cable. There is a sensor in the throttle that is basically like a light dimmer rheostat. These have been know to fail.

Thanks for the link for the manual. Although it doesn't clearly describe menu options for the Yanmar engine.

I have gotten a diagnostic code Y0403, and then it says:
0201 INACTIVE Lev5 7-events
CONTACT YANMAR SERVICE REP

Can't find this code in the manual. Is it related to the throttle sensor?
Thanks again for everyone's help.

Are you sure it is Y201? There are no Y codes they are usually P or U. P0201 is injector 1 Open circuit or loss to ground

Yesterday the alarm cleared itself. I don't know how, and I am suspicious it may come back. I'll test it again today and hope for the best.
The diag code was definitely Y0403, and then it had 0201 Inactive Lev5. A really great tech from Mack Boring researched the code and called Yanmar. None of them could find this code. He said that "Inactive" indicated that this code was an old code and maybe not related to this problem. He also said that he didn't think the 4by2 Yanmar sent diag codes to the display.
In any event, tomorrow we're planning on heading down the Chesapeake, provided the problem doesn't come back today. I'll provide any updates.
Thanks again for everyone's responses and ideas.
Alan

My 02.c says that the batteries low voltage caused the code. Many sensors simply measure voltage or current and an alarm situation arises when these are out of range for the sensor.

Give it a few weeks of use with well charged batteries. I'm guessing it will not occur again.
