Importing a Used Ranger Tug to Canada

Has anyone actually bought a US registered Ranger Tug that was used and imported it to Canada? Transport Canada treats a trailer like a motor vehicle and there is pages of what the boat must be. I assume all Ranger Tugs are manufactured to meet the requirements for export to Canada so a used one would meet the requirements too. Under NAFTA I think I only have to pay GST at the Border (no sales tax in Alberta!). Any advice, experience or horror stories would be appreciated.
